Doctor and Patient - after

Doctor & Patient • Photography, Retouching (2020)

The Client really loved the interaction between the Doctor and patient in this stock image, but since the Doctor was dressed in scrubs they thought he looked like he was dressed for surgery, but they wanted him to look like this was an office visit instead.

This was before AI, so my solution was to set up a photo shoot in my living room, being careful to match the lighting, camera angle, and focal length to the original. Since this was during the pandemic lockdown, and I was home alone, I dressed the part and set the camera to 10 second self timer mode. It took a few attempts to get the pose correct, but  I was able to match it and then use Photoshop to swap my body for the Doctor's.

Water Woman • Photography, Retouching (2015)

This was for a product that never launched. The concept was to have the "patient" calmly treading water, unaware of the dangers of the various diseases, represented by the mooring blocks, that are below the surface.

I hired the company Fly By Foy to come to our NYC studio and suspend the model from wires so she could pose as if she were swimming, and proceeded with my photo shoot.

I picked up the 3D rendered art of the underwater scene from another Artist (I never got their name), and composited one of my shots into it to complete the image.

Corona Virus Atlas • Photography, 3D, Retouching (2020)

I originally shot the picture of the "Doctor" holding a large exercise ball on his shoulders for a concept involving the Opioid crisis in 2013, but this shot was not used.

During the pandemic lockdown, my team and I had some "down time" so I suggested that we each go through our archives and find an unfinished piece that we thought had potential to be a good piece, and finish it.

I chose to place a giant 3D-generated Corona virus on the Doctor's shoulders  to represent the enormous burden health care providers were suffering from at that time due to Covid-19.
